Wendy Gerard, 65, of Mabel

Wendy J. Gerard, 65, of Mabel, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at her home.               

She was born June 29, 1954, in Minneapolis to Vincent and Joanne (Eide) Peterson.  She grew up in New Brighton, Minnesota, and graduated from Irondale High School.  On Oct. 31, 1980, she married Ronald Gerard.  They lived in LaPine and Dexter, Oregon, where she stayed at home with the children and later worked as a bartender in a friend’s bar. They then moved around the western states of California and Colorado with Ronald’s work in the logging industry and then for five years in the oil fields near Kenmare, North Dakota, before moving to Mabel four years ago.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing pool, fishing, going to the beach, and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Mabel; three children, Dustin Richard, Sarah Jo, and Kelly Jean;  grandchildren, Autumn Jean, Donavin Ryan, Destiny Lynn, Gage Nico, Brantley Dean, and Kael Luca; brothers, Brian and David Peterson; and sister, Jan Shivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Mengis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
