Gregory Anderson, 65, once of Fillmore County

Gregory Anderson

Gregory (Greg) Dean Anderson, 65, of Burnsville, died on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Fairview University Hospital from complications due to a stroke following his recent heart surgery. He was surrounded by his children and went peacefully.

He was born in Fillmore County on June 22, 1953, to Amos and Helen (Tolrud) Anderson.

He was proud to be a funeral director for the majority of his working career and found satisfaction helping families, which was well known as one of his innate qualities.

He was funny, caring, enigmatic and true to himself. He never shied away from a good time, but he also worked hard every day to make a difference in the lives of those he loved. His hobbies of gardening, boating, cooking and music are just a few for which he was known. His storytelling was top notch and he could have even the most stoic people laughing.

He was a longtime member of the Zuhrah Shrine Horsemen and a proud member of The Torske Klubben.

He is survived by his children, Thomas (Tami) Anderson, Lindsey (Wes) Watson, John Anderson (Kristina Janu) and Jessica (Tony) Norem and grandchildren, Garrett, Aurora, Lillian and Ashton.

A funeral service for him was held on Friday, Sept. 28, at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel in Minneapolis. Burial followed on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston.
