FCLMC wrestlers finish regular season at 12-10

The Fillmore Central/Lanesboro/Mabel-Canton wrestling team finished the regular season with a 49-18 win over Wabasha-Kellogg.  With the win, the Wolves finished with a dual meet record of 12-10, which is a great turn-around from last season.

In addition to three forfeit wins by Caden Anderson, Oliver Hoeltzle and Stefan Nikoloski, FCLMC got wins from Connor Wingert, Bradon Knutson, Cale Anderson, Orion Sass, Carson Berg and Cooper Ferrie.  There were also two double-forfeits in the match.

The Wolves (12-10) got the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Section 1A team tournament, and will wrestle St. Charles (1-16), at Mazeppa, on Thursday, Feb. 13, 6 p.m.  The winner will wrestle Zumbrota-Mazeppa (No. 2, 13-5) at approximately 7 p.m.  The upper quad of the lower bracket has No. 6 Goodhue (13-9) at No. 3 Dover-Eyota (16-2).

The upper bracket features No. 5 Caledonia/Houston (12-8) at No. 4 Chatfield (13-3) and No. 8 Wabasha-Kellogg (4-7) vs. No. 9 Triton (14-15), at Grand Meadow, with the winner facing No. 1 GMLOS. 

The semi-finals will be held at the Mayo Civic Center, Saturday, Feb. 15, 11 a.m.  The finals are scheduled for 1 p.m. also at MCC.

The Class AA and AAA semi-finals are also scheduled for Saturday at the Mayo CC.

The section individual tournament is going to be held on Feb. 21 and 22 at the Mayo Civic Center.  Seeding for the individual tournament is usually held the Wednesday before the section tournament.
