Deputies pursue suspect spotted in Wykoff

Fillmore County sheriff’s deputies pursued a subject who was spotted in Wykoff into Olmsted County Tuesday, Oct. 1, before calling off the pursuit due to safety concerns.

According to Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge, at approximately 1:17 p.m. on Oct. 1, the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office received a report that an individual with outstanding arrest warrants was in the city of Wykoff. Deputies responded and located the subject, who then fled north in a motor vehicle.

Deputies pursued the suspect, who hit stop sticks placed on County Road 1 in Olmsted County. The suspect’s vehicle lost both tires on the right side and continued north. Due to safety concerns, deputies terminated the pursuit shortly after entering the city of Rochester, said DeGeorge.

The suspect was visually identified, and is known to deputies, added the sheriff. The case will be reviewed by the Fillmore County Attorney’s Office for charges. The name of the suspect will be released once criminal charges are filed.
