In addition, Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton will be competing in the girls’ state meet as a “wild card’” entry and St. Charles, LFCMC and RPH will be wild card entries for the boys. The second, third, fourth and fifth place teams in each section meet qualified for the wild card meet. A total of 32 teams competed in the wild card meet with the top four places advancing to the state meet as wild card entries. Section 1A will have two entries at the state meet for the girls and four teams for the boys state meet.

In the girls’ meet Chatfield finished seventh (607 points) and in the boys’ competition, Chatfield was fifth (626 points).

The True Team meet is all about place of finish, with first place getting 30 points (15 teams, two entries for each event), second getting 29, etc. Participants finishing the race, or completing an event scored points. Participants disqualified or didn’t make the starting height (high jump, pole vault) didn’t score any points for the team. First place in a relay was worth 45 points, second was 42, etc.
