Chatfield boys’ relay teams both place in finals

The Chatfield boys’ 4x200-meter relay team finished sixth and the 4x100-meter relay team finished seventh in the state track and field meet finals last weekend.

The 4x100-meter relay team, running the 400 meters, finished with a time of 44.43 seconds in the finals on Saturday at Hamline University in St. Paul. Members of the team, in order of their running, were Carson Larrabee, Benjamin Muller, Gage Tuohy and Chance Backer.  The guys finished eighth in the preliminary competition Friday with a time of 44.74.

The 4x200 team of Muller, Jared Baker, Jack Tuohy and Backer finished sixth in the finals with a time of 1:32.30.  The team was fifth in the preliminaries with a time of 1:31.35.

Jordan won both the 4x200 (1:29.25) and 4x100 (42.79, new class A record). Jordan was also the boys’ team champion with 87 points.  The team was followed by Providence Academy (58) and Pierz (36). 

Chatfield finished with seven points and tied for 44th.  A total of 82 different teams scored points in the Class A boys meet at Hamline University last weekend.

Top three Class A girls’ teams were The Blake School (57), Cotter (44) and Rockford (42.5).

Rosemount won the AA girls and Hopkins was the AA boys’ winner.
