Ann Holland, 72, born in Spring Grove

Ann Carol (Torvick) Holland, age 72, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away in the company of loved ones on Oct. 31, 2018, in Roseville, MN. 

Born March 20, 1946, in Spring Grove, MN to Olaf and Clara (Benrud) Torvick. On Sept. 4, 1966, she joined in marriage to David Holland at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, MN. 

Ann graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Occupational Therapy program. She went on to serve as Director of Rehabilitation Services for University of Minnesota, Shriners, and Allina hospitals. 

She was President of the Minnesota Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA), serving as Representative to the Assembly, chairman of several committees and subcommittees, and Fieldwork Representative to AOTA National Committee on Education. 

Ann was honored with the first MOTA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, and also belonged to several community and church organizations.

She will be remembered for her bright blue eyes, smile, laughter, Scandinavian hospitality, strength, determination, and strong faith. 

She was a friend and mentor to many and will be missed by family and friends. 

Survived by her husband, David, son John (Trina), granddaughters Amelia and Anika, sisters Ellen Plunkett, Kathryn Lehman, Lorraine (Orland) Maenke, Jeannie DeRemer, brother Larry (Chris) Overhaug, and many other relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Clara, and sister Joan Hayashida. 

Memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Central Lutheran Church, 333 South 12th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55404 (next to the Minneapolis Convention Center). 

Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow on site. Memorials: Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Minnesota, or donor’s choice.
