  • The Mabel-Canton baseball team had one game canceled last week but still got in a pair of doubleheaders on the road. The first was a non-conference twin bill against Onalaska Luther on Monday, May 15, with the Cougars dropping both 11-1 and 13-1.
  • The Lanesboro boys and girls golf teams had two meets on the schedule last week but lost a third match to wet weather. Tuesday, May 16, the Burros played a non-conference triangular at Harmony against Fillmore Central and Wabasha-Kellogg.
  • The Mabel-Canton trap shooters have a commanding conference lead going into the final week of the regular season. League-leading M-C outscored second-place Stephen-Argyle by over 152 points last week and now lead the storm by a commanding 349.5 points with only one week of shooting remaining.
  • The golf teams have just about completed the regular season and will be preparing for the section tournament coming up on Wednesday, May 31, and Monday, June 5.
  • Lanesboro shooters had the seventh best team score in the conference (Class 2A – Conference 3) last week but the Burros remained in sixth place among nine teams with only one more week remaining in the regular season.
  • Track teams runners-up at conference, head to sub-section
The Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton track teams were busy last week, starting with runner-up team finishes at the Southeast Conference meet on Tuesday, May 16, at Grand Meadow. They traveled to a meet at Dover-Eyota on Thursday afternoon. The team wasn’t complete at D-E as most of the girls team was on its way to the True Team state meet on Saturday.
  • The softball season for the Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Falcons came to an end Monday when the team lost to Chatfield 14-2 in the first round of the 1AA East sub-section tournament.

Not only is Mabel-Canton still on top of the conference in the spring trap shooting season, the Cougars actually widened their lead atop the standings. M-C was the top-scoring team for the second straight week and now leads second-place Stephen-Argyle by 197 points.
  • The Lanesboro golf teams had a busy week on the course, first traveling to Ferndale at Rushford for a practice meet with Rushford-Peterson, so there aren’t team scores to report from that action. Thursday, May 11, the Burros traveled to the Old Barn-River’s Bend for a non-conference dual with Kingsland.
  • The Lanesboro trap team had the conference’s seventh-best score last week, but the Burros remained in sixth place in league standings.
