Successful basketball teams have been a staple at R-P schools for many years, and a group of seventh grade boys recently proved that tradition shows no signs of weakening. R-P’s Pacesetter team, comprised of eight seventh graders, advanced from a regional tournament in Rochester to the Minnesota Invitational Tournament. There they defeated Madelia (42-20) and Minnesota Valley Lutheran (54-30) to advance to the final. The R-P squad captured the MIT title with a 38-31 victory over Waconia-St. Joe’s.
